Hello lovelies, it's been a while!
I haven't written in so long because I've been so busy with work and assignments. Anyway I finished work today and decided to pop into NewLook whilst waiting for my bus... FATAL ERROR! I spent so much in there haha. But I've told myself it's ok because unlike most students I don't blow my money on alcohol as I don't drink so I can justify blowing it on clothes instead haha. I also have a job so I did earn it ;) anyway let's get started!
The NewLook haul:
Ok so the first thing I picked up was this gorgeous daisy print skater skirt for £14.99. The daisy print is definitely in fashion at the moment especially as we are approaching Spring and you'll probably see Daisy's a lot thoughout this post haha. I absolutely love this skirt because it's so dainty and skater skirts are my favourite type because I feel so self conscious in tighter/more fitted skirts, so this is perfect. This skirt also has two pockets which is nice and it buttons up at the front (I don't think you can see that in the picture). I think this will be perfect for Summer, either for in the day or even for dressing up and going out!
Next to the daisy print skirt in the shop was this denim jacket. I wasn't going to buy it but I've wanted one for a while and I thought it went really well with the skirt so I thought why not! Haha. I haven't had a denim jacket like this since I was about 10 but I thought it would be nice for Summer evenings when it gets a bit cooler :) this was £19.99
I next wandered over to the t-shirt section and saw this pretty butterfly top. I have quite a few t-shirts from NewLook now in this design (round neck and rolled sleeves) so I knew that I would like it on. I think you can never have enough t-shirts like this because if you wear them with some jeans you just can't go wrong. It's quite baggy too which is a plus because as I've said before I don't feel comfortable in tight fitted clothing. This was £9.99 and they also came in a nude colour too.
I have quite a few pairs of these pumps and for a while now I've wanted a maroon/burgundy pair because I have a lot of other clothing that is the same colour and I thought matching shoes would be great. I like these pumps because they look just like converse just without the logo.
These were £9.99
These flower hair wreaths are my new favourite thing! Basically they are to go around your donut bun and I just think they look soooo pretty! I bought the pink rose one a while back and so many people have complimented me on it saying how cute it looked so when I went in today I bought a daisy one too! Also they are so good for hiding loose bits of hair that didn't go into your bun, which is good for me as I can never do them really neat! The pink rose one was £3.99 and the daisy one was £2.99
The final thing I bought from NewLook (I actually got this last week) is this daisy jumper in aqua blue. It's soo pretty and I've only worn it a few times but again a lot of people have complimented me on it. The material it's made out of is very delicate and I'm quite worried about putting it in the wash in case any of the Daisy's come off. It's also quite thin so I like to wear a blouse underneath with a collar so you can see it at the top :) This was the most expensive thing and I think it was about £24.99.
The Boots haul:
Now before I start I should explain that every so often the Boots warehouse people come to our uni to basically sell any clearance stuff they have left at ridiculously cheap prices! This is the second time they've come since I've started uni and I absolutely love it! When I say they sell things cheap, I mean cheap! All single no7 and no17 makeup items were £1 instead of like £7/£8!!
The only downside is that it goes so quick because there is a tonne of girls trying to get what they want and if you're small like me then it can be quite hard to see haha!
I bought a no7 lipstick in the colour raisin shimmer for £1 (how good is that?!). I also bought a no7 eye shadow palette also for £1 and finally a soap & glory breakfast body scrub for £2! I haven't yet tried the eye palette but I thought the colours were so pretty and I couldn't really not buy it at just £1 could I? In the palette were 2 shades of pink, a white and a grey/silver.
I've only used the soap & glory scrub once but oh my goodness it smells like HEAVEN!! It says that the flavour is Maple syrup but if you live in the UK and like me have never had maple syrup, you probably won't know what it smells like. Personally I think it smells exactly like the chocolate fudge brownie Frijj milkshake. Honestly it smells that good I have to resist the urge to eat it haha!!
Wow this has been such a long post, but I hope this sort of makes up for not posting in such a long time. I definitely think I need to hide my card and only spend money on essentials for a good while after buying all of this haha! Thank you for reading, and if you have been wanting to buy clothes for Spring/Summer then I hope this has inspired you a little. Let me know in the comments what you think or if you have any of the same clothes as me :)
Lots of love,
Joanna x
